Fly open-cockpit over Fewa Lake and face-to-face with the Annapurna range on a 15–90 minute ultralight flight from Pokhara Airport — no experience needed.
Pokhara is one of the very few places in the world where you can strap into an open-cockpit aircraft and fly face-to-face with 7,000 and 8,000-metre peaks. Our ultralight flights lift off from Pokhara Airport and climb straight into a panorama most trekkers spend weeks earning on foot — Machhapuchhre's fishtail summit, the Annapurna range, and the turquoise sprawl of Fewa Lake laid out below. With the wind on your face and nothing but open air between you and the mountains, it's a genuinely different way to experience the Himalaya — fast, exhilarating, and entirely weather-permitting. Four flight lengths are available, from a quick 15-minute valley loop to a full 90-minute run deep into the foothills, so you can match the flight to your schedule, your budget, and how much mountain you want to see. No experience is necessary — you fly alongside a licensed pilot who handles the aircraft while you take in the view
You lift off from Pokhara Airport in an open-cockpit ultralight, seated beside a licensed pilot who handles the aircraft while you take in the view. Expect wind on your face, no cabin or windshield between you and the mountains, and a flight length you choose yourself — from a quick 15-minute valley loop to a full 90-minute run deep into the foothills.
Fly in a genuine open-cockpit ultralight aircraft — one of the most direct, unfiltered ways to see the Himalaya from the air
Face-to-face views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the Annapurna range on every route
Bird's-eye perspective over Fewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda, and Pokhara city
Four duration options (15/30/60/90 min) to match any schedule or budget
Longer routes extend over the Seti Gorge, remote foothill villages, and — on the 90-minute flight — deep into peaks like Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal and Mardi Himal
No trekking, no altitude sickness risk, and no prior experience needed — just show up and fly
Ideal add-on activity alongside a Pokhara stopover, lakeside stay, or as a rest-day activity before or after a trek
Best for: First-timers, sunrise/sunset flyers, tight schedules
The shortest route is built for a fast, punchy taste of flight over the valley — ideal at sunrise or sunset. We lift off from Pokhara Airport and climb quickly over the rooftops of the city, banking toward Sarangkot hill as Fewa Lake opens up beneath us like a sheet of glass. From altitude, the World Peace Pagoda appears as a small white dot on the far ridge, with the full sweep of the Annapurna skyline rising behind it. It's a short flight, but the transition from ground-level noise to open-air silence happens fast.
Pokhara City → Sarangkot → Fewa Lake → World Peace Pagoda → Lakeside
Best for: Travelers wanting real mountain proximity without committing to a full hour
Twice the airtime puts us noticeably closer to the mountains. Beyond the initial city and lake loop, we swing north toward the foothills, where Machhapuchhre's fishtail summit starts to dominate the windshield. The route then drops into the Seti River Gorge, a dramatic slot canyon cut straight through the valley floor, before climbing back out over Dhampus and Panchase villages — traditional settlements normally only reached on foot. It's a genuinely different vantage point on a trekking route most visitors only ever see from below.
Pokhara City → Foothills of Fishtail & Annapurna → Seti River Gorge → Panchase & Dhampus villages → Australian Camp
Best for: Serious mountain views without the multi-day trek
A full hour in the air is enough to genuinely customize the flight — this route pushes deeper into the range than the shorter options, climbing toward the approach used by trekkers heading to Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Himal. At this altitude, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and, on clear days, Manaslu all become visible at once — three of Nepal's eight-thousanders in a single frame. The route also swings over Ghandruk, a terraced Gurung village normally seen only by multi-day trekkers, before circling back toward Pokhara.
Annapurna & Machhapuchhre Base Camp foothills → Mardi Himal → Seti Valley → Ghandruk
Best for: Anyone who wants the single most comprehensive aerial tour of the Pokhara valley and its surrounding peaks
The full flight experience. We head first toward Begnas Lake, a quieter counterpart to Fewa on the valley's eastern side, before pushing into remote terrain around Sikles village and the glacially-fed Kapuche Lake. From here the route runs deep into the Seti Valley, tracing terrain that mirrors the approach to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Poon Hill — viewpoints most visitors only reach after several days on foot. Peaks including Lamjung Himal, Dhaulagiri and Mardi Himal stay in view for long stretches. The return leg sweeps back over Sarangkot, the World Peace Pagoda, and Fewa Lake before landing at Pokhara Airport.
Begnas Lake → Sikles village → Kapuche Glacier Lake → Seti Valley → Machhapuchhre Base Camp approach → Poon Hill → Sarangkot → World Peace Pagoda → Fewa Lake
