The World Peace Pagoda sits directly across Phewa Lake from Pokhara's Lakeside strip, and reaching it makes for one of the most relaxed half-days the city offers — a short hike up through forest, a wide Annapurna-and-lake panorama at the top, and a boat ride back across the water to close the loop. It's an easy, low-commitment outing that suits couples, families, and anyone wanting a lighter alternative to the region's longer hikes, while still delivering a proper mountain view and a genuinely scenic return journey.
Hotel → Trailhead (drive) → World Peace Pagoda (hike) → Boat across Phewa Lake → Hotel
8:00 AM — Hotel Pickup. We drive a short distance around Phewa Lake to the trailhead used for the Peace Pagoda climb.
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM — Hike to World Peace Pagoda. Trek duration: approx. 45–60 min. The trail climbs steadily through forest, with occasional clearings offering early glimpses of the lake below. It's a manageable, well-marked ascent, and we take it at a relaxed pace.
9:30 AM – 10:15 AM — World Peace Pagoda Viewpoint. Time on site: 45 min. At the top, the white dome of the Shanti Stupa opens onto a wide panorama — Phewa Lake directly below, Pokhara city beyond it, and the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre along the northern horizon on clear days. We take time here for photos and simply to enjoy the view before heading back down.
10:15 AM – 11:00 AM — Descent to Lakeside. Trek duration: approx. 45 min. We descend a different section of trail down toward the lakeshore, where a traditional wooden boat waits to take us back across.
11:00 AM – 11:45 AM — Boat Across Phewa Lake. Duration: approx. 30–45 min. Rather than driving back, we cross Phewa Lake by boat, with the Peace Pagoda receding behind us and the Annapurna range still visible ahead — a quieter, more scenic way to close out the morning.
12:00 PM — Return to Hotel. We land near Lakeside and walk or transfer back to the hotel, concluding by around noon.
