Muktinath Helicopter Tour

We're collected from our Pokhara hotel in the early morning and transferred to the domestic airport for check-in, permit processing, and a safety briefing ahead of boarding. Lifting off, the helicopter climbs steadily north, tracking a route between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as Pokhara's lakes and green valleys give way to steeper, drier terrain. As we press deeper into the mountains, the landscape shifts dramatically — lush hillsides fade into the stark, wind-carved valleys of Mustang, with Nilgiri and Tukuche Peak rising sharply on either side of the Kali Gandaki gorge below. The transformation from Pokhara's subtropical lake basin to this high desert corridor is one of the most striking parts of the flight. Landing near Muktinath Temple at 3,710 metres, we make our way to the temple complex, known locally as Chumig Gyatsa, where 108 water spouts and two sacred ponds offer pilgrims the chance for a ritual bath believed to cleanse a lifetime of sins. We have time here for Pooja, Havan, and quiet reflection at one of the holiest sites shared by Hindu and Buddhist traditions, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Thorong La pass and surrounding Mustang peaks. Reboarding for the flight home, we retrace the same route back through the Kali Gandaki corridor and the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri foothills, watching the terrain soften back into Pokhara's green valley below. Roughly 45 minutes later, we land at Pokhara Airport and are transferred back to our hotel, Darshan complete within a single morning.
