Most visitors to Pokhara never make it past Phewa Lake, which is exactly what makes Begnas and Rupa worth the detour , two quieter lakes a short drive east of the city, ringed by farming villages instead of hotels and cafés. This tour walks a stretch of the lakeshore and surrounding village paths, takes to the water by boat, and includes a relaxed lakeside lunch, all at a noticeably slower pace than anything near Lakeside. It suits travellers who've already covered Pokhara's headline sights and want a genuinely local, low-key day of birdwatching, village life, and open water, without another crowd to navigate.

8:30 AM — Hotel Pickup. Our guide and private vehicle collect us from the hotel mid-morning, once the sites have opened but ahead of the busiest foot traffic.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM — Patan Durbar Square. Time on site: approx. 90 min. We begin in Patan, just south across the Bagmati from Kathmandu, where the Durbar Square's temples and the former royal palace showcase some of the finest Newari stone and metalwork in the valley. Courtyards open one into the next, each lined with carved struts and bronze statuary, and our guide traces Patan's long identity as a centre of craftsmanship — a reputation its silver- and metalworkers still hold today.
11:00 AM – 1:30 PM — Bhaktapur Durbar Square & Pottery Square. Time on site: approx. 150 min. A drive of roughly 30–40 minutes brings us into Bhaktapur, where the whole old city is closed to vehicles — a rare, unhurried way to see a Nepali heritage town. We take in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the 55-Window Palace, and the towering Nyatapola Temple, then wander into Pottery Square, where potters still shape clay on manual wheels the way their families have for generations. Lunch follows nearby, at own expense — a good moment to try Bhaktapur's famous juju dhau.
2:30 PM — Return & Hotel Drop-off. We make our way back to Kathmandu, arriving at the hotel by mid-afternoon.
