Sarangkot is Pokhara's signature sunrise experience, and for good reason: from its ridge above Phewa Lake, the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) rise almost directly ahead, close enough that binoculars feel unnecessary. This short pre-dawn excursion drives up in darkness, positions for first light, and has us back at the hotel in time for a full day elsewhere — whether that's a hike, paragliding, or simply resting lakeside. It's the single most-repeated Pokhara experience for a reason, and works well as a first-morning activity for anyone just arrived in the city.

4:45 AM — Hotel Pickup. We leave Pokhara in the dark for the roughly 30–40 minute drive up to Sarangkot.
5:30 AM – 6:30 AM — Sarangkot Sunrise Viewpoint. Time on site: 60 min. At the viewpoint tower, we wait as the sky lightens over the eastern hills. As the sun clears the ridgeline, its light moves across the Annapurna range and the sharp fishtail summit of Machhapuchhre, while Phewa Lake and Pokhara city slowly emerge from the morning haze below. This is the moment the whole outing is built around, and we allow time to simply take it in before heading back down.
7:00 AM — Return to Hotel. We descend back into Pokhara, arriving at the hotel by around 7:00 AM.
