Overview

The 6-day Annapurna Helicopter Trip is a private Nepal luxury tour package covering Kathmandu, Pokhara and the Annapurna Sanctuary. This Annapurna Base Camp helicopter tour is made for travellers who want to fly into the heart of one of the world's most famous mountain circles without the multi-day trek. Everything is private: your own helicopter, your own luxury car, your own guide and your own pace.

In Kathmandu, you stay at Dwarika's Hotel, a heritage hotel famous for its rescued Newari woodcarvings. With your guide, you visit Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple), watching monks at sunset and holy rituals on the Bagmati River.

A short scenic flight of about 25 minutes then takes you to Pokhara, where you stay at Temple Tree Resort & Spa beside Phewa Lake. From Pokhara, your private helicopter flies up into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre of peaks including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), following the same valley trekkers take on foot over many days. If the weather and the rules of the national park authorities allow, the pilot lands near Annapurna Base Camp at about 4,130 m, surrounded on all sides by some of the highest mountains on Earth.

Because mountain weather and permits can change quickly, the flight is planned first as a scenic experience, with the landing as a welcome bonus when conditions allow. Back in Pokhara, you enjoy a private lunch with mountain views, timed for the best afternoon light, before relaxing days by the lake with a boat ride to Tal Barahi Temple and a visit to the World Peace Pagoda.

This Nepal luxury tour package is also a lovely Nepal honeymoon package for couples, and a well-suited Nepal tour for couples and families travelling together. There is no trekking, and the only high-altitude moment is a short, well-managed stop if the landing is possible.

7:00 PM: Return to Dwarika's for a relaxed first evening. Dinner is at leisure and at your own cost.

Overnight: Temple Tree Resort & Spa
Day 3 Private Helicopter into the Annapurna Sanctuary and a Mountain-View Lunch
Temple Tree Resort & Spa, Pokhara Breakfast, Lunch

Pokhara → Annapurna Sanctuary → Annapurna Base Camp Landing → Pokhara → Mountain-View Lunch

Meals: Luxury Breakfast , Lunch with Mountain View · Transport: Private helicopter · Flight: about 1.5 to 2 hours

Today is the heart of the tour: a private helicopter flight up into one of the world's most famous mountain amphitheatres.

6:00 AM: An early Luxury Breakfast at Temple Tree, then your driver takes you to Pokhara Airport for your helicopter.

7:00 AM: Take off from Pokhara and fly north into the foothills, following the same valley used by trekkers on the Annapurna Base Camp trail, with terraced villages giving way to rhododendron forest and then bare rock and ice.

7:45 AM: Enter the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre ringed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), among the most dramatic mountain scenery in Nepal.

8:15 AM — Landing near Annapurna Base Camp, if allowed. If the weather, wind and park regulations allow, the helicopter lands near Annapurna Base Camp (about 4,130 m). You step out for a few minutes, surrounded on almost every side by mountains over 7,000 m. Move slowly and breathe calmly. If a landing is not possible, the pilot flies a scenic circuit through the Sanctuary at a safe altitude instead, giving you the same extraordinary views from the air.

9:00 AM: Fly back down the valley towards Pokhara, with a last look over the foothills and terraced farmland.

9:45 AM: Land back in Pokhara. Timing on the day can shift by 30 to 45 minutes depending on mountain weather.

10:15 AM: Return to Temple Tree Resort & Spa for a rest after an early start.

1:00 PM — Private lunch with mountain views, arranged at a scenic spot in Pokhara and timed for the best afternoon light over the Annapurna range, whether at your resort or a specially chosen viewpoint restaurant.

3:00 PM: Free afternoon to relax by the pool or book a spa treatment (own cost). Dinner is at leisure (own cost).

Weather back-up: mountain flying depends on calm winds and clear conditions in the Sanctuary. If the helicopter cannot fly on Day 3, we try again early on the morning of Day 4 and adjust the rest of your Pokhara plan accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trip Info & FAQs for Annapurna Helicopter Trip: 6 Days Luxury Helicopter Flight & Lakeside Stay

General Information

Six days is a comfortable length. You get two nights in Kathmandu, two nights in Pokhara with the helicopter flight in between, and a final night back in Kathmandu before departure, with the morning of Day 4 kept as a natural weather back-up.
The classic trek to Annapurna Base Camp takes 7 to 12 days round trip. This tour reaches the same dramatic mountain amphitheatre, and often a landing at Base Camp itself, in under two hours by private helicopter from Pokhara, so it suits travellers with limited time or lower fitness.
It suits couples, honeymooners, families and anyone who wants to see the Annapurna range up close in comfort. There is no trekking, and the pace is easy.
Yes. You have your own helicopter, luxury car, driver and guide. You never share the tour with other guests unless you travel with friends or family.
Yes. We can add nights, or combine this tour with a Muktinath or Everest helicopter tour. Tell us your dates and we will build it around you.
About 4,130 m near Annapurna Base Camp, if the landing is possible.

Activities

A landing near Annapurna Base Camp is planned if the weather, the wind and national park permits allow. It is never guaranteed. The flight is planned first as a scenic experience through the Sanctuary, so you see the same views from the air even if a landing is not possible.
A natural, bowl-shaped amphitheatre high in the Annapurna range, ringed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). It is normally reached only after several days of trekking on foot.
After your helicopter flight, a private lunch is arranged in Pokhara at a scenic spot, timed for the best afternoon light over the Annapurna range.
The helicopter flight itself gives spectacular high-mountain light in the morning. Sarangkot near Pokhara can also be added for a classic sunrise viewpoint if you would like.

Accommodation

Dwarika's in Kathmandu is a heritage hotel with carved woodwork, courtyards, a pool and a spa. Temple Tree Resort & Spa in Pokhara is a peaceful boutique resort near Phewa Lake with a pool and a full spa.
Yes. Suite upgrades are available at both hotels on request, subject to availability.

Food and Drinks

Luxury Breakfast every morning is included (5 in total), plus a private mountain-view lunch in Pokhara on Day 3. Other lunches and all dinners are at your own cost.
No. Please tell us when you book, including for the private lunch, and we can plan around vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other needs.
No. Please drink bottled or filtered water only. Bottled water is provided in your car and on the helicopter.

Transport, Flights and Guide

About 1.5 to 2 hours in total, from take-off in Pokhara to landing back in Pokhara, including any ground time near Base Camp.
About 25 minutes. By road the same journey takes 6 to 7 hours, so the flight saves you most of a day. Flights on Day 2 and Day 5 are included in this package.
Mountain flights can be affected by weather and wind. If the Annapurna flight cannot go on Day 3, we try again early on Day 4. For Kathmandu–Pokhara flights, we arrange the best alternative, such as a later flight or a private drive of 6 to 7 hours.
A private air-conditioned luxury car with an experienced driver. For larger groups we provide a bigger vehicle of the same standard.
Yes, an evening flight works well. We recommend arriving at the airport about 3 hours before an international departure.

Weather and Best Time

October to November and March to April, when mornings are calm and skies are clear. Winter (Dec–Feb) can also work but has less certain landings due to snow and wind. We do not recommend this tour in the monsoon (Jun–Aug).
We try again on the following morning where the itinerary allows. If it truly cannot go ahead, we discuss a refund of the helicopter portion with you.

Visa & Insurance

Most foreign travellers need a Nepal tourist visa, while Indian citizens do not. Visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport for USD 30 (15 days), USD 50 (30 days) or USD 125 (90 days), or you can apply online before you travel.
No. Please arrange travel insurance before you arrive in Nepal, including medical cover and trip cancellation.
Nepal is generally safe for visitors, and Kathmandu, Pokhara and the Annapurna region are used to tourists from all over the world. Your private guide and driver look after you throughout, and our team is available 24/7 by WhatsApp.

Payment

The price depends on your group size, travel dates and room category. Please send us an enquiry and we will reply with a clear quote, usually within the hour.
